Herend Father Christmas

Mikulas is the Hungarian version of Saint Nicholas, and a similar figure to Father Christmas - Santa Claus. The Hungarian Santa has a long robe and is often shown with a crosier (a bishop’s stick) which alludes to the historical origins of this character as an Orthodox bishop. Father Christmas is painted in natural coloration with a dramatic gold crosier and stands 6 inches high.
